Courses in the Department of Rhetoric and Composition focus on writing as a rhetorical activity, with emphasis on preparing students for the writing tasks they will face at college level and beyond. Such strategies as invention, effective organization, objective style, and accurate source attribution are major elements of the courses. RHET101, 102, 201 (formerly RHET103) and the upper level writing courses are all Core Curriculum requirements.
