The Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science provides a rigorous foundation in pure as well as applied mathematics, equipping students for further study and preparing them to use their mathematical skills in many different employment arenas. The mathematics and actuarial science department offers the following programs:

Mathematics is used throughout the world in many fields, including natural science, engineering, medicine, and the social sciences such as economics. The application of mathematics to such fields, inspires and makes use of new mathematical discoveries and sometimes leads to the development of entirely new disciplines.

Actuarial science applies mathematical and statistical methods to finance and insurance, particularly to risk assessment to help reach more informed decisions in those areas. Actuaries are professionals who apply mathematical models to improve financial decision-making by evaluating the financial implications of uncertain future events.

Here is the solution:  this document gives the details of the newly approved plan to get the two degrees in 151 credits: this actually means only two more courses than the standard requirements for a computer science major.
