Department of Law

The law department aims to provide students with global legal education and the necessary legal skills to understand, and serve their societies.
The department also aims at the creation of a stimulating academic environment to expand the students’ intellectual horizons, to develop their analytical and critical abilities, and to further their creativity and self-development.

We offer two graduate degrees with courses highly important to the development of Egypt and the region.

LL.M. Degree Program in International and Comparative Law

The Ibrahim Shihata Memorial LL.M. in International and Comparative Law is intended for graduates of law faculties who wish to deepen their appreciation of the rule of law, good governance, law's place in development and in the heritage and present culture of Egypt and the region

Courses are designed to augment knowledge and the capacity to work effectively in a global free market economy, in the private sector and in national and international organizations.

International Human Rights Law Masters Program

The M.A. in International Human Rights Law does not require a first degree in law. It is designed for those who are working, or wish to work, in organizations where an understanding of the laws and legal instruments available nationally, regionally, and internationally for the protection of human rights is indispensable.

At the Department of Law we focus on facilitating personal growth, leadership, and excellence through strong student-faculty interaction and applied learning experiences, emphasizing each student’s unique needs and potential; fostering respect for differences among people in preparation for life and employment in a diverse global village.
