Bachelor of Arts in Modern History
A history major will provide you with the skills and abilities to succeed in any career. History majors become political analysts, business leaders, journalists, broadcasters, diplomats, writers, educators, teachers, lawyers, advertising executives, personnel managers and public relations specialists. Many history majors also go on to graduate schools around the world.
Statistics show that historians tend to move ahead more quickly than other majors in their chosen fields because they have learned to think creatively on all levels, to analyze quickly, to understand human communities as well as individuals, and most importantly, to understand themselves and their place in the world.
The objective of the Modern History major is to introduce students to the practice of history, and to train them in its philosophy and methodology. In doing so this major aims to give students the intellectual tools with which to approach these goals, together with an understanding of the complexity of the past.
