Special Opportunities
Extra-Curricular Activities
The Biology Club is a very active society involved in a wide variety of activities involving the natural world. This club is for anyone interested in the world around them, not just Biology students. In recent semesters the club has shown some of the latest environmental films and documentaries including An Inconvenient Truth and March of the Penguins. They have sponsored lectures on a variety of biological topics and have organized field trips and community service activities such as clean-ups at nearby Wadi Degla, cave expeditions, bird-watching trips and the Nile bat cruise (every semester) to learn more about these fascinating mammals. Students and faculty work cooperatively to educate themselves and the public about issues facing Egypt, the Red Sea, the local deserts and the organisms that inhabit them. The goal of the Biology Club is to raise interest and awareness about the world around us.
