We are proud to announce the ninth year of our collaboration
with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). For decades, ASME has
offered a variety of services and training programs to help practicing
engineers develop their skills and assist engineering students in advancing
their careers. Engineering and Science Services at AUC has, for more than 30
years, offered training programs on cutting-edge technology to engineers in
Egypt and the Middle East.
This collaboration allows engineers in Egypt
and the Middle East to benefit from ASME training programs and enables Engineering
and Science Services to broaden its offerings in Egypt and the region.
The joint courses may be taken individually to
accumulate PDH credits or to earn a
Specialization Certificate in Pressure Vessels and Piping.
Time and Duration
Each course comprises 30 hours of instruction in
morning sessions (9:00 am - 3:15 pm) or afternoon sessions (4:00 - 9:00 pm).
Courses will be held on the shown dates, provided a minimum number of students register two weeks in advance.
The tuition fees for each course are $1,500.
Egyptian residents are granted reduced fees of LE 1,800 per course. ASME members
receive a 10 percent discount. Fees should be paid in cash at the Engineering
and Science Services office or by check payable to AUC. A letter of
authorization from a participant’s company is acceptable.
Deadline for Application
Applications are accepted on first-come-first-served bases. Prospective participants are urged to apply at least two weeks before the beginning date of the course they intend to join.
Who Should Attend
The courses are designed for engineers and scientists who are working in industry, governmental agencies, universities and research institutes to strengthen their background in a given topic.
Method of Instruction
Lectures, case studies, discussions and visual aids are used in presenting the course material. The laboratory and computer facilities at AUC are available. A file of lecture notes is presented to each participant at the beginning of each course. The teaching materials are in English. However, to improve communication between lecturers and participants, both Arabic and English may be used in instruction.
Continuing Education Credit Records
Under this collaboration, ASME and AUC will:
- Provide certificates of completion for all participants who register and successfully complete ASME-authorized courses offered by AUC
- Record each registered participant's continuing education unit (“PDH”) credits
- Maintain records of each registered participant’s PDH credits for a period of seven years
