Students

One of the primary objectives of CCFC is to provide quality financial education and training to students. Some of the students-centered activities delivered in the center include Miniclasses, interactive trading sessions, guest lecture series, hosting the AUC index and many more. Miniclasses

CCFC's facility is fitted with stock exchange monitors, live news, and price tickers. This will help the center in offering students mini-classes that will help students understand and use the financial databases and softwares available in the trading room. Some of the Miniclasses offered include:

  1. Reuters 3000 Xtra Training
  2. Financial Applications of Excel
  3. Mining for Financial Data
  4. Statistics for Business
  5. SPSS

Interactive Trading Sessions

During regular stock market hours, interactive trading sessions will also be used to give students hand-on experience in constructing investment portfolios, using financial data in pricing securities, identifying market inefficiencies and understanding the impact of market making and price taking on market dynamics.

AUC Index

CCFC is also the proud sponsor of AUC's finance club stock market index. The index, developed by finance students, will be benchmarked against existing market indices and will not only serve in providing valuable market insights, but also become a learning challenge.

Guest Lectures

Students will benefit from the array of events CCFC will host. A series of guest lectures will always insure that students are in touch with and aware of the prominent figures in the finance sector.         

Other Services

Workshops covering both the theoretical and practical aspects of financial knowledge, will give students the right mix that would prepare them for a world of job opportunities in the finance sector.

Faculty and Research

In an effort to foster academic research, CCFC provides data and software facilities to help faculty and students with research. Permanent lab assistants are also available for assisting faculty and backing them up with market data needed for empirical research.

"Fidelity Retirement Funds: Making the Right choice"

Professionals

CCFC supports the corporate community through providing financial training sessions needed to improve performance and enhance finance professionals' know-how. Both standard and customized training programs, will help corporations to meet their growing demand for analysts, financial managers, broker/ dealers, and custodians.

Certificate in Microfinance

The Citadel Capital Financial Services Center (CCFC) at the American University in Cairo is the first center in the Middle East to offer certification in Microfinance practice. Recognizing the importance of the role played by Microfinance in the economic and social development of countries, makes it vital to provide a forum where microfinance practitioners can exchange knowledge and experience, to enhance the practice. Certificate Course in Financial Management and Risk Assessment

International best practice in microfinance around the world suggests good financial analysis and risk management are the basis for successful and sustainable microfinance operations. In Egypt, microfinance practitioners who experienced the practical importance of sound financial management and risk assessment in microfinance institutions often lack formal training in this area. Recognizing the importance of the subject and its effect on the sound management of MFIs and on sustainability issues, The Citadel Capital Financial Services Center at AUC will offer a course to tackle the subject.
