Intensive Arabic
The Arabic Language Institute's Arabic Language Unit offers non-native speakers an intensive non-academic program that does not require specific qualifications. The program is available to students, businessmen, diplomats, scholars and others who need to gain a broad command of contemporary Arabic as quickly and as effectively as possible.
Courses are offered in the fall and spring, and an intensive summer program is also offered. Students register for a minimum of eleven credit hours, equivalent to twenty contact hours, and those who successfully complete 24 program credit hours receive certificates of achievement from the ALU stating their level of proficiency.
ALU offers two study tracks:
Track 1: Courses in Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic.
Track 2: Courses in Modern Standard Arabic only.
The ALU also tailors courses to students’ needs and specializations.
