Provost Earl (Tim) Sullivan
Provost Tim Sullivan is AUC's chief academic officer. His responsibilities include shaping and implementing AUC’s academic vision and building the size and quality of the faculty. The provost provides leadership for the School of Business, Economics and Communication; School of Humanities and Social Sciences; and School of Sciences and Engineering; Libraries and Learning Technologies; and university research centers in the social sciences, nanotechnology, desert development, as well as programs in American Studies, philanthropy and civic engagement.
Sullivan has been provost since 1998 and professor of political science at AUC since 1973. He received his BA in political science from Seattle University (1964) and his Ph.D. in international relations and government from the Claremont Graduate University (1970). He has taught at the University of Portland, University of California, Lost Angeles and the University of Utah.
Sullivan’s teaching and research interests have focused on various aspects of interantional relations and public international law, especially in the Middle East. He initiated the Cairo International Model United Nations and the Cairo International Model Arab League at AUC and was the faculty advisor of both programs for many years.

The provost meets regularly with the Provost's Council to discuss all issues relating to academic programs.
