Board of Trustees

Distinguished for their professional accomplishments in the areas of business, law, education, philanthropy and scholarship, AUC’s board members are all volunteers who dedicate their time and resources to supporting the university.

President David D. Arnold

David D. Arnold became the 10th President of The American University in Cairo in September 2003.

Provost Lisa Anderson

Lisa Anderson is chief academic officer of the university, coordinating and supporting schools, programs and faculty.

Vice Provost Ali Hadi

Ali Hadi is responsible for overseeing all aspects of graduate studies and graduate and faculty research.

President's Cabinet

The President's Cabinet comprises the provost, counsellor, executive secretary of the Board of Trustees, and the university's five vice presidents for planning and administration, student affairs, institutional advancement, continuing education, and finance.

Provost's Council

The Provost's Council acts as an advisory body to the provost in all issues relating to academic programs.

Senior Administrators

The senior administrators meet regularly with the president to discuss administrative and academic issues and developments.

University Senate

The University Senate is the representative council of the faculty, with participation by the student union, staff body and administration.
