Main Buildings

Main Library
$20 million

The Main Library will be the most highly-used space on the new campus. Occupying a total of 20,550 square meters, its five floors will house AUC’s Rare Books and Special Collections Library, computer laboratories, distance learning rooms, reading rooms, as well as space for more than 600,000 volumes of books and periodicals. All members of the AUC community will, throughout the course of their careers, access the Main Library's wealth of resources, online databases, vast literature collections and archives.



School of Engineering
$15 million

This formidable three-story structure will contain all the resources necessary to advance learning for the students and faculty of this highly sought-after specialization at AUC. The School of Engineering will include the engineering departments, conference and meeting rooms, offices and laboratories. It will also be supplied with state-of-the-art equipment to support its various academic initiatives, as well as research by regional and international faculty.



School of Sciences
$10 million

The School of Sciences will house AUC's departments of biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics. Nestled within the heart of the new campus, the School of Sciences building will be a highly populated area as students and faculty members congregate within its many laboratories, conference and meeting rooms.



Administration Building
$10 million

Occupying a total area of 10,900 square meters, the Administration Building's four floors will house the Office of the President and the alumni center, which includes a lounge for exclusive use by alumni and an adjoining terrace for outside events and reunions. The various conference and meeting rooms throughout the Administration Building will, in addition to hosting campus meetings, also support academic conferences by visiting scholars.



Indoor Athletic Complex
$10 million

Among the key aspects of the new campus will be its enhanced sports facilities. The Indoor Athletic Complex, a three-story 11,750 square meter building, will house a state-of-the-art 2,000-seat stadium that will host a variety of national and international sports events. The complex will also include a gymnasium with an indoor jogging track as well as squash courts, exercise, training and martial arts rooms.



Performing & Visual Arts (PVA)
$5 million

AUC’s Performing and Visual Arts Building occupies an area of 7,000 square meters and offers its students hands-on practical experience through involvement in mainstage and black box performances, along with a solid foundation in the literature, history and theory of theater. The building is equipped with art, music and film studios and practice rooms, a black box theater, art galleries and display areas.



Research Centers Building
$5 million

The Research Centers Building stands adjacent to the ceremonial entrance to the new campus, overlooking the main walkway and university garden. This three-story complex occupies an area of 2,750 square meters and houses AUC's academic and research centers and institutes: the Forced Migration and Refugee Studies Program, the Social Research Center and the John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement. This building includes facilities to support conferences, research and training and, in addition to administrative offices, provides visiting scholars with offices in which to conduct their projects and collaborative initiatives.



Student Residences
$1 million per residence (11 remaining)

One of the distinguishing features of the new AUC campus is the student housing village. Located within the majestic University Garden, and framed by a canopy of palms, arcades, walkways, fountains and shallow pools, the residences offer students an ideal environment for study and recreation. Each three-story house will include single, double and triple rooms, group study rooms, administrative offices and visiting faculty apartments. Four residences will be allocated for male students and six for female students from Egypt, the region and abroad.
