Libraries
Main Library: AUC boasts the largest English-language research collection in Egypt. The university’s main library — designed with open stacks and a fully automated catalog system — features more than 400,000 volumes, including thousands of e-books, more than 1,700 current periodical subscriptions and more than 80 databases providing access to an additional 6,000 periodicals. Library services include research instruction and assistance, and document delivery of resources obtained from other libraries.
Rare Books and Special Collections Library: A major center for scholarly research, the Rare Books and Special Collections Library holds more than 30,000 books, manuscripts, photographs, slides and maps. The library specializes in the civilizations of ancient, medieval and modern Egypt and the region. Its special collections include the Creswell Library of Islamic Art and Architecture; the collections of Max Debbane, Selim Hassan, Labib Habachi and Mahmoud Saba; and, most recently, the collections of Egyptian architects Hassan Fathy and Ramses Wissa Wassef, and renowned photographer Van Leo.
Book Stores
Located on-campus (Hill House) and off-campus (Zamalek Residence), AUC's book stores are owned and operated by the AUC Press. The stores sell all textbooks used for AUC classes, as well as an extensive selection of AUC Press titles and a large selection of imported general interest titles. The stores specialize in books on ancient and modern Egyptian history, Middle East studies, Islamic studies and Arabic literature in translation. The main book store in Hill House is open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (Saturday-Thursday). The Zamalek bookstore is open from 10:00 am to 7:00pm (Saturday-Thursday) and 1:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday. Campus Gift Shop
Located on the Main Campus, AUC's gift shop sells school and office supplies and AUC logo merchandise, along with a selection of gifts and cards. The shop is open from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm (Sunday-Thursday). For inquiries, call 2797-5275.
Travel Office

Bank
A branch of the Commercial International Bank (CIB) is located in the administration building on the Main Campus. The bank is open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm (Sunday-Thursday). For enquiries, call 2797.5023.
Clinic
The AUC clinic, located at 5 Youssef El Guindy Street on the ground floor, provides professional medical advice, vaccinations and immunizations, treatment for sports injuries and physical therapy, as well as a referral service to specialized consultants. The clinic's pharmacy fills prescriptions prescribed by AUC physicians free of charge (students can buy their prescriptions at an eight percent discount from El Mounir Pharmacy, tel: 2795.5233 or Hani Pharmacy, tel: 2794.3408). Pharmacy services are available from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and hours are extended to 6:00 pm on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Clinic services are available on both a walk-in and appointment basis from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Physicians are available from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm, and a qualified nurse is available from 8:00 am.
The clinic in the Zamalek residence is open from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays. There are emergency procedures to be followed and contact numbers to be used in case of emergencies or in case of urgent medical inquiries after working hours.

Sports
AUC's sports facilities include one tennis court, one multipurpose court, three gyms and a free-weight lifting room. The sports department can also arrange the use of an indoor swimming pool and running track located off-campus. Inquiries should be addressed to the sports office at tel 2797.5751 or e-mail sportd@aucegypt.edu. Access to the gyms requires a physical check-up, which is arranged through the AUC clinic.
Housing
AUC provides housing for relocated faculty, as well as students who wish live in university residences. AUC residence life is designed to be a seamless extension of the overall university experience. Staff and student resident assistants regularly organize educational, cultural, social and community service activities. The residences are entirely air-conditioned, and offer many facilities, including a computer lab, cafeteria, study room, wireless high speed internet access, TV with satellite channels and VCR, and exercise equipment. Each room has a high-speed internet connection and phones for making local calls or receiving international calls. Free housekeeping services and laundry of bed linens are provided. Food Services
AUC's restaurant and cafeterias are operated by United Enterprise Catering and sell hot and cold sandwiches, fresh fruit juices and a variety of desserts and snack. The main restaurant, which serves hot meals, is located on the Greek Campus, and the cafeterias are located on the Main and Greek campuses and in the Zamalek Residence.The cafeterias are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm (Sunday-Thursday). The restaurant is open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (Sunday-Thursday) during the academic year and 10:30 am to 4:00 pm during the summer.
