Library
AUC boasts the largest English-language research collection in Egypt. The university’s main library — designed with open stacks and a fully automated catalog system — features more than 400,000 volumes, including thousands of e-books, more than 1,700 current periodical subscriptions and more than 80 databases providing access to an additional 6,000 periodicals. Library services include research instruction and assistance, and document delivery of resources obtained from other libraries.
The library also houses the university's Rare Books and Special Collections Library, a major center for scholarly research, that holds more than 30,000 books, manuscripts, photographs, slides and maps. The library specializes in the civilizations of ancient, medieval and modern Egypt and the region. Its special collections include the Creswell Library of Islamic Art and Architecture; the collections of Max Debbane, Selim Hassan, Labib Habachi and Mahmoud Saba; and, most recently, the collections of Egyptian architects Hassan Fathy and Ramses Wissa Wassef, and renowned photographer Van Leo.
Book Stores
Located on the AUC New Cairo and off campus (Zamalek Residence), AUC's book stores are owned and operated by the AUC Press. The stores sell all textbooks used for AUC classes, as well as an extensive selection of AUC Press titles and a large selection of imported general interest titles. The stores specialize in books on ancient and modern Egyptian history, Middle East studies, Islamic studies and Arabic literature in translation. For inquiries, call 20.2.615.1301 / 1302 / 1303. Campus Gift Shop
The Campus Gift Shop is located in the Campus Center on the AUC New Cairo. AUC's gift shop sells school and office supplies and AUC logo merchandise, along with a selection of gifts and cards.
The online shop sells AUC merchandise (t-shirts, polo shirts, caps, ipod packs, bags) to members of the AUC community in Egypt and the US.
Travel Office
AUC's travel office, located in the Campus Center on the AUC New Cairo, provides international and national airline, hotel and car booking services to the university community. Bank
A branch of the Commercial International Bank (CIB) is located in the Administration Building on the AUC New Cairo. The CIB office hours are from 8:30 am to 2 pm, Sunday through Thursday.
On campus CIB ATMs
The AUC New Cairo CIB branch currently has two automated teller machines (ATM) available on the university premises. The first one is situated on the Garden Level of the Administration Building, close to the Auntie Anne's food outlet. The second is located beside the Dr. and Mrs. Elias Hebeka Bookstore.
Clinic
The AUC clinic is located located in the Campus Center on the AUC New Cairo. A physician and a nurse are available from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on week days.
Pharmacy services are available from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and hours are extended to 6:00 pm on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Clinic services are available on both a walk-in and appointment basis from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Physicians are available from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm, and a qualified nurse is available from 8:00 am. The clinic in the Zamalek residence is open from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays. There are emergency procedures to be followed and contact numbers to be used in case of emergencies or in case of urgent medical inquiries after working hours.
Sports
AUC's sports facilities on the AUC Dwontown include one tennis court, one multipurpose court, three gyms and a free-weight lifting room. The sports department can also arrange the use of an indoor swimming pool and running track located off campus. E-mail sportd@aucegypt.edu for more information. Access to the gyms requires a physical check-up, which is arranged through the AUC clinic.
Sports facilities at the AUC New Cairo are all available. AUC's sports department offers quality athletic activities and learning opportunities to all students. Its programs promote a healthy lifestyle, discipline, teamwork and leadership development, as well as high standards of ethical conduct and sportsmanship.The sports program emphasizes health and enjoyment through recreation, fitness, competitions and sound physical habits.
Housing
AUC provides housing for relocated faculty as well as students who wish live in university residences.
AUC residence life is designed to be a seamless extension of the overall university experience. Faculty and student resident assistants regularly organize educational, cultural, social and community service activities. The residences are entirely air-conditioned, and offer many facilities, including a computer lab, cafeteria, study room, wireless high speed internet access, TV with satellite channels and VCR and exercise equipment. Each room has a high-speed internet connection and phones for making local calls or receiving international calls. Free housekeeping services and laundry of bed linens are provided. There is also 24-hour security and a part-time clinic staffed by a physician.
Conference and Visitor Center
The AUC Conference and Visitor Center offers various conference spaces both on the AUC New Cairo and the historic AUC Downtown. It provides state-of-the-art media resources and a variety of meeting spaces that are ideal for academic conferences, executive classes, dinner seminars and public lectures.

Food Services
The University's Food Services Office is currently in charge of food operations on campus. The introduction of new vendors this year, offering a variety of Egyptian, American, Italian, International, and specialty menus through the various on-campus outlets, including the Caf. by SANO, Cilantro, Subway, Cinnabon, McDonald's and Auntie Anne's.
