Management of H1N1 Cases at AUC
AUC's medical clinic continues to work in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health to ensure effective management of any and all H1N1 cases within the AUC community.
I write to share one change in the protocol which the Ministry of Health has approved, that relates to the duration of a classroom closure (the classrooms upon which an AUC student – with a positive H1N1 test result – took classes). The new protocol requires closure of classrooms for two hours instead of the previous need to close classrooms for a period of three days. This change in protocol will assist our ability to effectively manage access to all teaching facilities. The Registrar's Office is working in close cooperation with the AUC Clinic and Facilities to ensure required timely cleaning of affected classrooms, and will be informing faculty and students about room closures.
As previously communicated, in the event of a positive test the affected student will be required to stay away from the campus for up to ten days (the determination of the actual duration of the leave from campus will be made by the AUC clinic).
As always, anyone experiencing flu like symptoms is encouraged to contact the AUC clinic at 2615.4000.
The university continues to maintain a page with the latest information on the H1N1 flu, which can be accessed through the home page. The direct link is
