The American University in Cairo is an independent private institution of higher education. Founded in 1919, the University’s mission is to provide quality higher and continuing education to students from Egypt and the region as well as to promote international understanding. The University is dedicated to the ideals of American liberal arts and professional education, and offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs.
