The City of Cairo
Cairo is the largest city in the Arab world and Africa. It has long served as the cultural, political and social capital of the Middle East. Home to one of the oldest and richest civilizations in the world, Cairo is unique with its ancient monuments and historical landmarks that date back thousands of years, from the Great Pyramids to Al Azhar University and the Hanging Church.

To take full advantage of the city, AUC is developing its academic programs to use Cairo as a field site across the curriculum. Drawing heavily on Cairo as an extension of the classroom helps students understand the multifaceted reality of the city.
