Welcome from the Dean
Ambassador Nabil Fahmy
I would like to welcome all the current and new undergraduate and graduate students to our School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. With three main academic departments in Law, Public Policy and Administration, Journalism and Mass Communication, plus five diverse research centers and programs covering a wide arena of topics including: Gender and Women Studies, Electronic Journalism, Middle East Studies, American Studies, Migration and Refugee Studies we are here to offer our students a unique opportunity to develop a comprehensive overview of the main critical and strategic issues that are of great concern to world citizens today. We are here to help our students develop the skills to work in the public domain and be competent professionals contributing to more effective public policy making on both the local and international levels.
Fall 2013 Acting Dean
Laila El Baradei has accepted to act as the dean of GAPP. Dean Nabil Fahmy is currently serving as the Egyptian minister of foreign affairs, and we all wish him success in this new position. El Baradei has been the associate dean of the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy for several years. She is fully aware of the issues facing GAPP, and she is the best person to continue to advance the school’s future plans. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Professor El Baradei and wish her success in this new position.
